Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a Per Diem Medical Assistant for the Overlake Clinic in Bellevue, WA. Shifts are Monday–Friday with start times between 7:30am and 9am.

You will escort patients, document vitals, assist with procedures, and support clinic operations. The role requires completion of a WA-accredited medical assistant program or equivalent; WA CMA/Interim CMA and WA Surgical Technologist registration may be needed, plus BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Completion of a medical assistant program offered by ABHES or CAAHEP accredited, or military training may satisfy the requirement.
• Certified Medical Assistant in WA or interim WA CMA, familiar with WA practice standards.
• Current BLS (AHA) Health Provider Card and renewal every two years.
• Proficient in email and word processing systems.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients and families to exam/procedure area.
• Documents vital signs and other patient information per clinic policy.
• Assists with procedures as directed.
• Performs clerical tasks, patient transport, cleaning and restocking of exam rooms to maintain clinic flow.
• Recognizes symptoms and escalates to RN/provider when needed.
• Performs Blood Draws as directed.
• Acts as liaison between patients/families and health care providers.
