Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle seeks a Medical Assistant I to support providers, room patients, document vitals, and assist with procedures. This full-time role requires WA CMA credentials (CMA/BLS) and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinic environment.

The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and a schedule of 7:45 am–4:15 pm, Monday–Friday at the Northwest Clinic in North Seattle, WA.

Qualifications

• Completion of an ABHES- or CAAHEP-accredited medical assistant program or military training may satisfy the requirement.
• Current Certified Medical Assistant in Washington state; familiar with state practice standards.
• Interim CMA in WA and Surgical Technologist registration with 30-day submission window.
• BLS provider card required, renewed every two years; proficient with email and word processing.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and families to exam/procedure areas.
• Document vital signs and other patient information per policy.
• Assist with procedures as directed by clinicians.
• Perform clerical tasks, patient transport, and maintain exam room flow.
• Recognize symptoms and escalate to RN/provider as needed.
• Perform blood draws and injections as directed.
