Job summary

The Sisters of Mercy in Savannah, GA seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide dignified, compassionate care to our retired Sisters, on a part-time per diem basis.

You will administer medications, follow care plans, monitor residents, and document accurately, while collaborating with a caring team to maintain safety and quality of life. This role supports the mission of mercy and service in daily nursing routines.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed practical nurse.
• Experience providing nursing care to elderly or hospice residents.
• Ability to follow individualized care plans and document accurately.
• Willingness to work weekends/holidays as part of rotating schedule.

Responsibilities

• Follow individualized nursing and medical plans of care, administering medications and treatments within your scope of practice.
• Monitor and document residents’ vital signs, symptoms, progress, and responses to care.
• Recognize and report changes in residents’ conditions to the Director of Nursing or supervising nurse.
• Respond to call lights promptly and complete shift-change reports.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures, including PPE use and hand hygiene.
• Assist with resident transfers, mobility, and activities using proper body mechanics.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment and report hazards.
• Respond calmly to emergencies and communicate with Sisters, families, and staff.
• Support staffing coverage and on-call duties; work weekends and holidays.
