Job summary

Benchmark Senior Living in Shelton, CT is seeking a Per Diem Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our compassionate care team. You will deliver nursing services to residents in a warm, home‑like environment and collaborate with a dedicated staff to maintain high standards of resident well‑being.

Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays is a plus. Previous elder care experience is preferred, and CPR certification is required.

Qualifications

• Current state license as an LPN and CPR certification.
• Graduate of an approved LPN program (per state requirements).
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience working as a nurse preferred.
• Previous experience working with the elderly in a paid or volunteer position is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assesses, communicates, and documents residents’ status.
• Observes and reports any significant changes in resident health to the care team per state regulations.
• Directs and supervises the daily work of Resident Care Assistants.
• Mentors and directs Lead RCAs in job responsibilities.
• Coordinates care needs with community providers via case management.
• Balances service demands with resident independence.
• Recognizes and reports elder abuse or neglect per state regulations.
• Responds to emergencies and activation of personal emergency response systems.
