Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking a Maintenance Technician in New Jersey to inspect, test, maintain, install and repair hospital systems and equipment. You will coordinate with supervisors and staff to ensure optimal patient care and a safe work environment.

The role requires three years of trades experience in engineering, with possible substitution by technical school certification. A valid NJ driver’s license is required and adherence to codes and safety standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent certificate (G.E.D.).
• Three years of experience in one or more trades found in the Engineering Department preferred.
• Technical school certification may be substituted for up to 18 months experience.
• Trades include electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry or electronics.
• Valid state issued motor vehicle license.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, tests, maintains, installs, repairs, and modifies systems, equipment and structure within the hospital.
• Performs preventive maintenance as assigned on systems, equipment, and structure within the hospital.
• Communicates with supervisory and management personnel, nurses, patients and staff to ensure optimum patient care and business environment.
• Works in accordance with local, state, and national code compliance and uses hand, power, tools and test equipment.
