Job summary

Altus Hospice is seeking a compassionate Chaplain/Spiritual Caregiver for per diem coverage in Kingwood, TX. You will provide spiritual and emotional support to patients and families as part of the interdisciplinary team, honoring all beliefs and traditions.

The role emphasizes grief support, collaboration with care staff, and maintaining compassionate presence throughout the hospice journey. Per diem schedule enhances flexibility and mission-driven work.

Qualifications

• Seminary degree (BD/MDiv or equivalent) required or strongly preferred.
• At least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) preferred.
• Comfortable working in interfaith settings and with diverse beliefs.
• Experience in hospice, hospital, or community health care preferred.
• Ability to handle stress when caring for patients and families.
• Computer proficiency and EMR experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess and address spiritual and emotional needs within the care plan.
• Provide spiritual counseling and guidance across faiths and beliefs.
• Offer grief and bereavement support throughout care journey.
• Collaborate with IDT to coordinate spiritual care and support.
• Communicate with staff and partners to ensure continuity of care.
• Document accurately in compliance with standards and policies.
