Responsibilities

• Interprets for patients with limited or no English language proficiency in interactions with care providers and hospital personnel.
• Translates complex medical and personal information, including diagnostic and surgical procedures, treatment plans and assessments.
• Provides on-call interpreter services during evenings and weekends on a rotation basis.
• Assesses whether to interpret by telephone or on site per hospital policy.
• Prepares and submits related documentation and maintains records of daily activities.
