Responsibilities include on-call coverage, training staff, and maintaining documentation while upholding confidentiality and quality standards in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Health Care Interpreter Training Certificate.
• Preferred National Certification for Healthcare Interpreters where available.
• Experience in interpretation and translation in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English and another language; medical terminology knowledge.

Responsabilidades

• Interprets for patients with limited English proficiency in interactions with care providers.
• Translates medical information, including diagnoses, treatment plans, and results.
• Assists patients with scheduling, billing issues, and related matters.
• Identifies cultural differences impacting communication and adapts accordingly.
• Provides on-call intake and interprets on-site or by telephone as needed.
• Trains staff on interpreter usage and cross-cultural communication.
• Maintains daily activity records and supports service delivery improvements.
