Garden State Treatment Center seeks a compassionate Per Diem Gambling Disorder Counselor to join our behavioral health team in New Jersey. The role focuses on delivering engaging group therapies for adults with gambling disorder and co-occurring conditions.

The counselor will lead psychoeducational and process-oriented groups, address triggers, relapse prevention, and financial and relational impacts, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and maintaining HIPAA-compliant documentation.

Qualifikationen

• Education, training, or clinical experience in the assessment or treatment of problem gambling/gambling disorder is required.
• Experience facilitating therapeutic or psychoeducational groups for individuals experiencing problem gambling or gambling disorder is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of gambling-specific clinical issues including triggers, urges, cognitive distortions, relapse patterns, and financial consequences.
• Maintaining required licenses, certifications, supervision arrangements, or credentials for assigned responsibilities.

Aufgaben

• Facilitate engaging and clinically appropriate problem gambling treatment groups for adults in outpatient services.
• Facilitate psychoeducational, process-oriented, relapse prevention, coping skills, and recovery planning groups.
• Identify gambling triggers, urges, cognitive distortions, high-risk situations, and patterns contributing to gambling behavior.
• Incorporate interventions addressing financial consequences, relationships, and emotional regulation.
• Address co-occurring substance use and mental health concerns within scope of practice.
• Document group notes, attendance, and progress in required systems within deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with Clinical Director and multidisciplinary team on client participation and needs.
