Job summary

Garden State Treatment Center in New Jersey is seeking a Per Diem Gambling Disorder Counselor to join our outpatient behavioral health team. You will facilitate engaging group therapy for adults addressing problem gambling, gambling disorder, and co-occurring conditions, aligned with recovery-oriented care.

The ideal candidate holds licensure as a clinical behavioral health professional (CCGC, LCADC, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) and has experience leading psychoeducational and

Qualifications

• Licensed professionals must be eligible to provide clinical services in New Jersey.
• Credentials must cover gambling disorder assessment and treatment.
• Licensure and supervision aligned with NJ scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging problem gambling and gambling disorder groups for adults in outpatient services.
• Lead psychoeducational, process-oriented, relapse prevention, coping skills, and recovery planning groups.
• Identify triggers, urges, cognitive distortions, high-risk situations, and patterns driving gambling.
• Address financial and relational consequences, emotional regulation, and healthy alternatives.
• Collaborate with Clinical Director and treatment team; maintain notes and documentation.
• Ensure confidentiality per HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 requirements and NJ regulations.

Certified Compulsive Gambling Counselor (CCGC)

Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC)
