Qualifications

• Forensic psychiatrist conducts evaluations and prepares medico-legal reports.
• Must be board-certified in psychiatry; forensic boards preferred.
• License to practice medicine in applicable states; DEA where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive forensic psychiatric evaluations via interviews, MSEs, and review of records.
• Assess competency to stand trial and criminal responsibility.
• Perform risk/dangerousness assessments and civil competency evaluations.
• Prepare objective forensic reports with rationale.
• Provide expert testimony in court, depositions, and hearings.
• Collaborate with attorneys, judges, correctional staff, and healthcare providers.
