Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals is seeking a part-time Forensic Psychiatrist to work in Manhattan. This role focuses on providing court-ordered evaluations and supervising clinicians in training.

The position requires graduation from an approved medical school, completion of an approved residency or fellowship, and licensing to practice medicine in New York. The forensic psychiatrist will also contribute to the criminal justice system by conducting evaluations under specific NYS laws.

Compensation is set at $113,125 for 18 hours a week.

Qualifications

• Five years experience in the field of specialty or subspecialty acceptable to the Medical Board of the Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Conduct court-ordered evaluations of criminal defendants and submit timely written reports to the Courts.
• Provide teaching and supervision for clinicians in training.
• Participate in regular supervision with the Director of the Manhattan FPECC.
• Actively participate in staff meetings and clinic quality improvement projects.
• Remain aware of and comply with organizational policies and procedures.
• Conduct CPL 730 and CPL 390 evaluations in other FPECCs as needed.
