Job summary

VEG is seeking a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line emergency team. You will handle a wide range of cases from minor to critical, triaging and assisting doctors to deliver gold-standard, compassionate care for pets and their families.

You’ll be involved in treatments, anesthesia, monitoring, diagnostics, and critical care nursing, while staying calm under pressure in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; AVMA accredited veterinary tech degree preferred.
• Credentialed veterinary technician in the state VEG practice is required; VTS in ECC, internal medicine or anesthesia/analgesia is a plus.
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with practice management software/EMR.
• Excellent communicator and calm under pressure; able to support teammates.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients and support pet owners through tests and treatments.
• Provide nursing care from triage to discharge in emergencies.
• Assist with anesthesia, diagnostics, imaging, monitoring and critical care tasks.
• Collaborate with doctors to maintain smooth care flow.
• Be ready to perform CPR and assist with advanced emergency procedures.
