College Medical Center Long Beach is seeking a Per-Diem Intake Specialist to perform intake and related duties in conjunction with Admitting functions. A candidate with ER, Urgent Care or Registration experience dealing with insurance will thrive in this role. Bilingual Spanish is preferred.

(SCHEDULE IS AS NEEDED, VARIED NIGHTS, DAYS AND WEEKENDS) The position emphasizes accurate data entry, quick screening of clients, and coordination with hospital staff to ensure smooth admissions.

Qualifications

• Bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Experience handling insurance in intake or registration is beneficial.
• Experience in ER/urgent care settings is a plus.
• Customer service skills are essential for intake roles.

Responsibilities

• Completes documentation on intake forms accurately and follows through with intake in a timely manner.
• Promptly handles incoming calls and screens clients; forwards information to the licensed person.
• Handles intake calls and walk-ins at the hospital contact in a timely manner.
• Maintains own appointment schedule and coordinates with hospital staff.
• Attends staff meetings as appropriate.
