Job summary

Orlando Health is seeking an Environmental Technician I on a Per Diem (As Needed) basis to help maintain a clean, safe, healing hospital environment. You will perform daily cleaning, disinfection, and sanitation while supporting patient throughput and infection prevention standards.

Responsibilities include room turnover, PPE usage, patient privacy, and customer service. This role requires strong teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Learn healthcare cleaning and disinfection procedures.
• Use computers and mobile devices for daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, public areas, hallways, medication rooms, and other assigned areas.
• Complete patient discharge and admission room cleaning according to procedures.
• Operate UV disinfection equipment as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness standards that support patient safety and infection prevention.
• Respond to customer questions with professional service and communication.
• Replenish supplies, remove waste, and manage privacy curtains.
