Job summary

Orlando Health in Orlando, FL is seeking an Environmental Technician I for 2nd Shift/Per Diem to help create a safe, clean, and healing environment for patients, visitors and staff.

You will disinfect rooms, assist with turnovers, manage waste, and follow PPE and safety protocols. Training is provided, and the role supports a team-oriented, inclusive workplace dedicated to patient care.

Qualifications

• No minimum education requirement.
• No experience required — training provided.
• Experience in housekeeping, hospitality, environmental services, or healthcare support is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and public areas.
• Support patient room turnovers for admissions and discharges.
• Remove trash, soiled linens, and bio-medical waste.
• Replenish supplies and change curtains as needed.
• Operate cleaning equipment and UV disinfection machines.
• Follow infection prevention, PPE, and safety protocols.
• Utilize department technology, including Bed Management systems.
• Report maintenance and safety concerns.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, families, and team members.
• Support departmental quality improvement initiatives.

Join Orlando Health's Environmental Services team and help create a safe, clean, and healing environment for our patients, visitors, and team members. As an Environmental Technician I, you'll play a vital role in infection prevention, patient satisfaction, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness throughout our healthcare facilities.

What You'll Do
