Job summary

Rochester Regional Health in Massena, NY is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide immediate medical care and transport during emergencies. This per diem role requires BLS at hire, NYS EMT certification, and a valid driver's license.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to stabilize patients and ensure safe transport to medical facilities. Responsibilities include on-scene assessment, CPR, bleeding control, airway management, and reporting patient care documentation.

Qualifications

• BLS certified at hire; if not AHA, obtain AHA BLS within 3 months.
• Valid NYS Basic EMT certification required.
• Valid driver’s license required (state)

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls, assess patients, and determine interventions.
• Safely transport patients to facilities and monitor during transit.
• Administer CPR, control bleeding, manage airways and life-saving measures.
• Operate defibrillators and oxygen delivery systems.
• Maintain patient care reports with assessments and treatments.
• Ensure readiness of vehicles and equipment.
• Collaborate with paramedics, firefighters, law enforcement, and hospital staff.
• Maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
