Rochester Regional Health is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician to provide immediate medical care and transport for patients during emergencies, supporting the Emergency Services department.

This per diem role features 12-hour variable shifts in Gouverneur, NY, with duties ranging from on-scene assessment to transport, CPR, patient documentation, and collaboration with EMS, police and hospital staff.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required at hire; AHA BLS must be obtained within 3 months if not already.
• Valid NYS Basic EMT certification is required.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Physical work may involve lifting up to 100 lbs and continuous movement.

Responsabilités

• Respond to emergency calls, assess patient conditions, and determine interventions.
• Safely transport patients to facilities and monitor during transit.
• Administer CPR, control bleeding, manage airways, and provide life-saving measures as needed.
• Operate equipment such as defibrillators and oxygen delivery systems.
• Maintain detailed patient care reports and ensure vehicle readiness.
