Job summary

Rochester Regional Health seeks a Paramedic for its Emergency Medical Services in Massena. The frontline clinician will assess patients, provide ALS, and transport to facilities while coordinating with dispatch and other responders. Expect to work in varied environments and uphold safety and documentation standards.

Required NYS Paramedic license with BLS/ACLS/PALS; valid driver's license. The role emphasizes continued education, professionalism under pressure, and clear patient communication

Qualifications

• Current NYS Licensed Paramedic; BLS/ACLS/PALS required with AHA credentials within 3 months if not held.
• Valid Driver's license is required.
• Experience in pre-hospital emergency medical care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls, assess patients, and determine interventions, coordinating with dispatch.
• Safely transport patients to facilities, monitor condition and provide care en route.
• Provide ALS including airway management, IV therapy, defibrillation, and drug administration.
• Communicate with dispatchers, firefighters, law enforcement, and healthcare teams.
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses clearly in reports.
• Ensure emergency vehicles and equipment are clean and ready for use.
• Educate and reassure patients and families in crises.
• Adhere to legal, ethical, and safety protocols.
• Interpret instructions and calculate weight/volume ratios as needed.
• Lift/move patients in challenging environments; travel with partner as needed.
• Maintain composure and professionalism under pressure.
• Participate in ongoing education to stay current with protocols.
