Job summary

VEG is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician (Relief) in Greenville, SC. Per diem role involves front-line emergency care, triage, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing for a wide range of cases in a fast-paced hospital environment.

You will collaborate with doctors, support staff, and pet owners, delivering empathetic care, handling diagnostics, and contributing to a high-standard care experience during stressful moments.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA-accredited program.
• Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located.
• 1+ year of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Excellent communicator with ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours and lift up to 25 kg.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing.
• Provide nursing care and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Assist with diagnostics and imaging, sample collection, and placing tubes.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to deliver compassionate, gold-standard care.
• Perform CPR and participate in RECOVER CPR training and instruction.
• Utilize advanced techniques and equipment as needed (IVs, CRIs, endoscopy, ultrasounds).
