Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) seeks a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join a fast-paced ER team. You'll handle cases from triage to discharge, delivering gold-standard, compassionate care alongside doctors and teammates.

You will assist with anesthesia, diagnostics, monitoring, and critical care nursing, while growing your skills in a supportive, mentorship-driven environment that values your contributions and patient welfare.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; AVMA VT program strongly preferred.
• Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT/RVT/LVT) licensed in the state; VTS in ECC/anesthesia is a plus.
• 1+ year experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty experience preferred.
• Proficient with practice management software and electronic medical records.
• Excellent communicator; able to work under pressure in a noisy environment.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients and caregivers with empathy throughout tests and treatments.
• Provide nursing care, monitoring, and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Administer meds, IVs, CRIs, and blood products as needed.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to maintain care flow and plans.
• Perform CPR and assist with diagnostics, imaging, and sample collection.
• Assist anesthesia and use advanced techniques as required.
• Utilize central lines, endoscopy, and ultrasounds when available.
• Place tubes as part of critical care support.
