Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Per Diem Echocardiograph Technician for the Non-Invasive Cardiac Lab at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, NJ. You will perform inpatient, outpatient, and portable echocardiograms across age groups and assist with TEE procedures, ensuring safety and precision.

Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and BLS certification are required, with 1–2 years of echo experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required alongside a diploma from an accredited echocardiography program.
• Registry eligible status required, with 1st year registration after employment.
• 1–2 years of clinical echocardiography experience preferred, including pediatric/neonatal imaging.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality inpatient, outpatient, and portable echocardiograms across all ages.
• Assist physicians with TEE procedures, including preparation and scope sterilization.
• Verify orders and patient identification before procedures.
• Identify critical findings and promptly notify the physician.
• Coordinate scheduling with inpatient/outpatient services and transport.
• Comply with infection control and patient safety protocols.
• Maintain echocardiography equipment and prepare reading files.
