Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an EKG Technician to join the Non-Invasive Cardiac Lab on a per diem, day-shift basis at our New Jersey facility. The role focuses on performing diagnostic 12-lead EKGs, preparing patients for testing, and ensuring precise documentation to support cardiologist interpretation using the MUSE system.

You will collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and technologists to deliver high-quality cardiovascular care, while maintaining patient privacy and providing translation

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; certification in EKG interpretation preferred.
• At least one year of EKG experience or similar cardio testing exposure.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality 12-lead EKGs for adolescent and adult patients.
• Prepare patients for testing, explain procedures, and ensure comfort.
• Review and prepare EKG studies for cardiologist interpretation using MUSE.
• Distribute finalized EKG reports to referring physicians and units.
• Enter procedure charges accurately in the hospital information system.
• Provide translation help for Spanish/Portuguese-speaking patients when needed.
• Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality of records.
