Job summary

Benhaven, Inc. is looking for Per Diem Direct Support Professionals to provide care and support for individuals with disabilities in a home-like environment on an as-needed basis. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities and ensuring the safety of individuals.

• Ability to pass a criminal & driver's background check.
• Valid CT driver's license, current registration, and auto insurance.

Job description

Benhaven is seeking Per Diem Direct Support Professionals. The Per Diem Direct Support Professional will provide care and support to individuals with disabilities in a home-like setting. The position is on an as‑needed basis, serving as a substitute for regular staff members when they are unavailable.

Starting Pay: $20-22/hour

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores
• Implement individualized support plans and goals under the direction of the Residential Services Coordinator
• Ensure the safety and well‑being of individuals at all times
• Encourage individuals to participate in social, recreational, and community activities
• Document daily progress and any incidents or concerns in individual files
• Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and staff members
• Attend trainings and meetings as required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and autism preferred
• Ability to pass a criminal & driver's background check
• Valid CT driver's license, current registration, and auto insurance
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• CPR & PMT certified preferred, but will provide training
• DDS Med Certified preferred, but will provide training
