Job summary

Waypoint Maine, Inc. seeks a Residential Per Diem Direct Support Professional to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our Maine programs.

This hourly, per diem position emphasizes safety, respect, and promoting independence, with no guaranteed hours and a 25-hour weekly cap. You'll work with residents in homes and community settings, following individual plans, documenting progress, transporting residents as needed, and maintaining professional standards.

Qualifications

• Position experience not required but must have the desire to work with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
• A willingness to implement positive behavior support and effective communication with members, families, coworkers and other professionals.

Responsibilities

• Develop rapport with residents and cultivate a safe, supportive relationship.
• Provide support and guidance for skills building activities.
• Implement individual treatment plans and positive support plans.
• Assist with daily living activities including meals, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
• Transport residents in approved vehicles for activities and appointments.
• Maintain safety, confidentiality, and professional behavior; document progress daily.
