Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is seeking a Dental Assistant, Per Diem for the Garden City location. You will provide chair-side and clinical support, take diagnostic X-rays, and assist providers during procedures.

Maintain sterilization and supply inventories in a fast-paced dental clinic. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of dental assisting experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• NYS Dental Assistant license within two years of hire OR CRCST/CBSPD certification within two years.
• 1 year dental assisting experience; strong communication, detail orientation, organizational and analytical skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide chair-side and clinical assistance; take X-rays as needed (periapical, bitewing, panorex).
• Assist Dental Providers in all procedures and sterilization of instruments.
• Maintain inventory, logs for equipment and supplies, and ensure proper sterilization cycles.
