Job summary

VEG is seeking a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line ER team. You will handle cases from triage through critical care, working with doctors to deliver gold-standard, compassionate care for pets and their families.

Role requires RVT/CVT in the state, AVMA-accredited veterinary tech degree preferred, and 1+ year of ER experience. Expect a fast-paced, collaborative environment with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA-accredited program strongly preferred.
• Credentialed veterinary technician in the state where VEG practice is located.
• VTS in ECC, internal medicine or anesthesia/analgesia a plus.
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role, emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with practice management software/EMR.
• Excellent communication and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 25 kg (40 kg with assistance).

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Perform triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing.
• Assist with diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tube placement.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to plan and deliver patient care.
• Maintain composure and empathy for clients during stressful moments.
