Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support patients with daily living activities and basic nursing care. You will work under the supervision of an RN across the Inpatient Acute Rehab unit, contributing to a safe and orderly environment.

This per diem daytime role in Chicago offers a competitive starting rate and requires CNA certification in Illinois, with preferred phlebotomy/EKG and BLS credentials, plus hospital or clinic experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CNA, Illinois approved Certification required.
• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintaining a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
