NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor, NY is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Per Diem. You will perform routine and complex tests on clinical specimens across Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, Coagulation, Urinalysis and Microbiology, with rotation through sections as needed.

On-site coverage includes evenings and weekends. Required: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology and NYS licensure; ASCP certification preferred; 2–3 years of experience.

• New York State CLT licensure required
• ASCP certification preferred
• 2–3 years of clinical laboratory experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex tests on clinical specimens
• Conduct automated and manual tests across Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, Coagulation, Urinalysis and Microbiology
• May rotate through sections or be assigned to a specific one
• May fulfill in-charge responsibilities in the absence of a supervisor
• Obtain and receive laboratory specimens (blood, urine, body fluids)
• On-site per diem role covering evenings and weekends

Deliver care you can be proud of as a Laboratory Technologist, conducting routine and complex tests on clinical specimens. Perform a variety of automated and manual tests in all lab areas, which include Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, Coagulation, Urinalysis and Microbiology following established procedures and without immediate supervision. May be assigned to a specific section or may rotate in all sections. When the technologist meets NYSDOH supervisory criteria may be assigned to perform “in-charge” responsibilities in the absence of a supervisor. Obtain and receive laboratory specimens, including, blood, urine, and body fluids. Perform and interpret clinical laboratory tests used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease in this clinically dynamic position. This is a per diem position working two shifts per month covering evenings.

Location is our NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital campus in Upper Westchester/Cortlandt Manor NY

Preferred Criteria ASCP certification 2-3 years of experience

Required Criteria Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology (or equivalent curriculum) New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York State Education Department
