Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex tests on clinical specimens in various lab areas
• Conduct automated and manual tests following established procedures without immediate supervision
• Rotate through sections (Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Microbiology) as needed
• Possibly serve as in-charge when supervisory criteria are met
• Obtain and receive laboratory specimens (blood, urine, body fluids)
• Interpret clinical laboratory tests to aid diagnosis and treatment

Perform a variety of automated and manual tests in all lab areas, which include Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, Coagulation, Urinalysis and Microbiology following established procedures and without immediate supervision. May be assigned to a specific section or may rotate in all sections. When the technologist meets NYSDOH supervisory criteria may be assigned to perform \"in-charge\" responsibilities in the absence of a supervisor. Perform and interpret clinical laboratory tests used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease in this clinically dynamic position.This is a per diem position working two shifts per month covering evenings.
