Job Summary

This position provides leadership, direction, orientation, coaching, in-service training, staff development, and continuing education programs for assigned social work staff. This position is responsible for performing social work assessments and interventions as needed for inpatients, outpatients, and emergency department patients.

Essential Functions

1. Provide supervision to interns, LCSWs, and other staff in the absence of the Manager and/or Supervisor.
2. Provide psychosocial assessments of patients and families with social, emotional, interpersonal, and/or environmental issues. Formulate biopsychosocial assessments, disposition, and treatment plans.
3. Provide mandated assessments when abuse is suspected (child, disabled adult, elder) and specialized safety assessments when violence is suspected. Plan discharge from care facility to home or other care facility.
4. Collaborate with other professionals to evaluate patients' medical or physical condition and assess client needs as part of the interdisciplinary team.
5. Monitor, evaluate, and record client progress according to measurable goals described in the treatment and care plan.
6. Maintain knowledge of therapeutic behavioral interventions, replacement skill-building strategies, crisis assessment, management, and interventions.
7. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Patient Rights & Responsibilities, Joint Commission standards, and Centers for Medicare/Medicaid regulations.
8. Complete required documentation and paperwork, including biopsychosocial assessments and treatment plans, in a timely manner.
9. Communicate effectively with a broad population of patients, staff, and physicians to resolve issues.
10. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team with a varied population of clients.
11. Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills to guide peers.

Master's Degree in Social Work required
