Job summary

NYU Langone Health seeks a Per Diem Clinical Laboratory Technologist for the OB/GYN IVF program, performing endocrine testing in the NYU Fertility Center Laboratory to provide timely reports for patient care. There may be involvement in research projects under the Lab Director.

Required qualifications include a current Medical Technologist license (NYS/ nationally), ASCP preferred, and experience with high complexity testing; Immulite experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current State, National and/or Local Union Medical Technologist License.
• ASCP or equivalent preferred.
• Laboratory staff must be qualified as a medical technologist under NYS Clinical Laboratory Subpart 58-1.
• 2 years of clinical laboratory generalist experience preferred.
• Experience with high complexity testing and Immulite machine is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to quality assurance programs and participates in compliance activities.
• Performs specimen processing, test performance and reporting of results.
• Maintains accurate data entry in the Fertility Database/EMR and supports rapid turnaround of results.
• Follows established QC, calibration, and safety procedures.
• May train new staff and document corrective actions when issues arise.
