Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Universal Health Services, seeks a per diem Clinical Laboratory Scientist to support our acute care lab in Reno, NV. You will process specimens and report results across blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and serology/immunology, handling patient ranges from neonates to geriatrics.

The role requires independent operation, high-complexity testing, and adherence to quality control and CAP standards.

Qualifications

• State licensure as a Medical Technologist or General Supervisor is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate independently in all areas of the clinical laboratory (blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, serology/immunology, phlebotomy).
• Perform high-complexity testing and maintain quality control procedures.
• Know procedures for neonate through geriatric patients and ensure accuracy of lab values.
• Maintain CAP compliances, equipment checks, supplies, and competency training.
