Job summary

Northern Nevada Health System is seeking a Clinical Lab Scientist for a per diem night shift at the Reno, NV location. You'll process laboratory specimens and report results across the clinical lab, maintaining records and following established policies and QC practices.

The role requires Nevada State Licensure as a General Supervisor and BLS certification; duties include performing high-complexity testing, collaborating with care teams, and maintaining patient safety through accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Ability to function independently in all areas of the clinical laboratory: blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology and serology/immunology and phlebotomy.
• Responsible for performing high-complexity testing.
• Demonstrates knowledge of expected lab values for the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient.
• Notifies patient caregiver and/or physician of critical lab values.

Summary

This**Clinical Lab Scientist**opportunity is per diem and a convenient flexible schedule. This individual will be responsible for the processing of laboratory specimens and reporting of results in all areas of the clinical laboratory. Maintains laboratory records. Follows laboratory policies and procedures; maintains quality control practices in the Laboratory.

Similar to a hospital emergency department, the FED treats a variety of emergency medical needs including heart attack, stroke, trauma conditions, lacerations, acute pain and other life‑threatening conditions. If a patient requires a higher level of care, NNMC partners with local EMS providers to transport patients to an appropriate regional hospital.

Minimum/Preferred Requirements
