Job summary

Saint Mary’s Health Network in Reno, NV is seeking a per diem Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist to perform waived, moderate, and high complexity tests as allowed by CLIA. Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science from an accredited college.
• Meets the education and certification requirements for licensure and possess a valid GENERAL SUPERVISOR license from the State of Nevada - or eligible to work while license is pending.
• Minimum of 3 years working in a clinical laboratory required.
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and speak fluent English.
• Ability to work and problem solve independently.
• Flexibility to work any shift as needed preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the laboratory’s procedures for the collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of patient test results.
• Follow the laboratory’s established quality control policies and procedures in documenting all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.
• Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance and either correct the problem or immediately notify your supervisor.
• Perform a wide variety of laboratory procedures requiring independent judgment in multiple disciplines as introduced into the laboratory.
• Perform and document maintenance on instruments and equipment as appropriate.
• Review the accuracy of patient results prior to releasing or reporting.
