Job summary

Spindle is seeking a per diem paraprofessional substitute to support students during the upcoming 26/27 school year. You will provide 1:1 support for students with profound or severe disabilities, collaborating with teachers and therapists to implement IEPs and create an inclusive learning environment.

Flexible per diem scheduling accompanies this role, enabling you to contribute to students’ growth around your availability while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in a school

Qualifications

• Previous paraprofessional or school support experience.
• Direct experience with profound or severe disabilities preferred.
• Ability to establish compassionate, patient rapport with students.
• Collaborates with teachers, therapists, and support staff.
• Adaptable and proactive in a dynamic environment.
• Committed to confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to assigned students throughout the school day.
• Assist with functional, social, and academic tasks per IEPs.
• Support classroom management and create an inclusive, engaging atmosphere.
• Implement teacher and therapist directives, including accommodations and modifications.
• Maintain accurate records of student engagement and progress.
• Foster independence and self-advocacy in students whenever possible.
