Job summary

Spindle is seeking a Personal Care Assistant Substitute to provide 1:1 support for students in a Philadelphia-area school setting. This per diem role offers flexible assignments to fit your schedule while impacting children’s lives.

You will work with teachers and staff to ensure attentive care, assist with daily routines, implement behavior plans, and help create a safe, inclusive learning atmosphere. Ideal for patient, dependable candidates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• TB test as required by district guidelines.
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting.
• Current or obtainable clearances.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic, behavioral, and social support to students in classrooms.
• Offer 1:1 or small-group assistance as directed by instructional staff.
• Support students with daily routines, transitions, and class engagement.
• Implement individualized behavior plans and follow IEPs as needed.
• Assist with personal care and mobility requirements for assigned students.
• Maintain a positive and nurturing classroom environment.
