Job Summary

Schedule: Per diemStarting Rate: $47.89/hr

This position is part of the 1199SEIU Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Perform Comprehensive Cardiac Ultrasound ExamsIndependently perform high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs), TEE Stress Echo, portable cardiac ultrasound studies, and contrast/bubble studies while acquiring diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
• Assess and Prepare Patients for ProceduresReview patient histories, prior imaging, and clinical information to ensure appropriate exam protocols and deliver safe, patient-centered care. IV placement knowledge preferred but will provide training.
• Document and Communicate FindingsPrepare accurate preliminary reports and communicate relevant findings to interpreting physicians in a timely manner.
• Maintain Safety, Quality, and Compliance StandardsPrepare equipment and exam rooms, adhere to infection prevention and patient safety protocols, and comply with all privacy, departmental, and hospital policies.
• Support Exceptional Patient ExperiencesUtilize proper positioning and ergonomic scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort, safety, and a positive experience for patients and families.
• Contribute to Departmental ExcellenceParticipate in quality improvement and accreditation activities, assist with scheduling and workflow coordination, and meet established productivity and quality standards and other activities as required by department.
• Aid in the participation of our students precepting as deemed appropriate.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Sonography preferred
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI, or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS required
• Previous experience as a Cardiac Sonographer preferred
• New Hampshire locations: Medical Imaging License through the State of New Hampshire Office of Professional Licensure & Certification (OPLC) required upon hire
