Mass General Brigham’s Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Hyannis, MA, seeks a Per Diem Cardiac Sonographer to support outpatient cardiology services on-site. You will perform comprehensive transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs) and related imaging, ensuring accurate preliminary reports for physicians.

Required include an Associate's degree in Sonography, AHA BLS certification, and RCS or RDCS registration; NH licensure may be required for NH locations.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred; certification indicates competency in cardiac imaging.
• BLS certification required for patient safety and emergency readiness.
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs) and related studies.
• Prepare patients and review histories to ensure proper exam protocols.
• Document findings and communicate with interpreting physicians promptly.
• Maintain equipment, rooms, and infection control to ensure safety.
• Support patient experience with accurate positioning and comfort.
• Contribute to quality improvement and department workflow.

While supporting the Cape Cod community, providers of the practice also support both Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Cottage Hospital, to bring cardiac care closer to home for patients and provide a bridge to Mass General Brigham academic medical centers where advanced care is needed!We are seeking a Per Diem Cardiac Sonographer to support our practice on-site picking up a minimum of 2, 8-hour shifts a month. We are flexible with the shift times based on the candidate’s availability!Key Responsibilities1. Perform Comprehensive Cardiac Ultrasound ExamsIndependently perform high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs), portable cardiac ultrasound studies, and contrast/bubble studies while acquiring diagnostic images for physician interpretation.2. Assess and Prepare Patients for ProceduresReview patient histories, prior imaging, and clinical information to ensure appropriate exam protocols and deliver safe, patient-centered care.3. Document and Communicate FindingsPrepare accurate preliminary reports and communicate relevant findings to interpreting physicians in a timely manner.4. Maintain Safety, Quality, and Compliance StandardsPrepare equipment and exam rooms, adhere to infection prevention and patient safety protocols, and comply with all privacy, departmental, and hospital policies.5. Support Exceptional Patient ExperiencesUtilize proper positioning and ergonomic scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort, safety, and a positive experience for patients and families.6.
