Qualifications

• Education—Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Experience—6 months to 1 year of direct childcare experience with emotionally impaired youth.
• Certifications—Current Bradley Hospital Safety‑Care Certification and BLS certification (or ability to obtain).
• Skills & Abilities—Willingness to learn role‑related skills; ability to stay calm in crises; adapt care; strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Therapeutic Milieu Support—Maintain a safe, structured environment and engage with assigned children during shifts.
• Patient Observation—Maintain and document observation levels as ordered by physician or Charge RN.
• Daily Care & Routines—Supervise daily activities and assist with hygiene needs.
• Crisis Response—Intervene in disruptive situations using safe, least‑restrictive methods.
• Documentation—Complete shift notes, incident reports, and other required documentation promptly.
• Family Support—Provide support and information to visiting parents as directed by the treatment team.
• Collaboration—Participate in treatment team meetings, rounds, and patient discussions.
• Care Planning—Review care plans and communicate updates to the interdisciplinary team.
• Group & Activity Support—Co‑lead community meetings and groups.
• Behavioral Programs—Follow individualized behavioral plans and set supportive limits.
• Recreation & Skill‑Building—Organize activities for children; support development.
• Professional Development—Maintain certifications, attend meetings, and training.
