Job summary

Brown University Health's Bradley Hospital in East Providence, Rhode Island is hiring a Behavioral Health Specialist I to support the therapeutic milieu and provide compassionate, structured care for children and adolescents in inpatient and partial programs.

You will maintain a safe environment, supervise daily routines, respond to crises, document shift notes, involve families, and collaborate with the treatment team to update care plans and lead group activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 6 months to 1 year direct childcare experience with emotionally impaired youth.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, structured, therapeutic milieu and engage with assigned children.
• Document shift notes, incident reports, and other required documentation.
• Provide support to visiting parents and collaborate with treatment team.
• Co-lead community meetings, social skills groups, and activity groups.
• Follow individualized behavioral plans and support crisis management.
• Assist with activities of daily living and basic hygiene needs.
