Job summary

UW Medicine is seeking a Barista for the Montlake area in Seattle, WA. This per diem, day shift position involves preparing and serving espresso beverages and meals, handling cash, and maintaining a clean and stocked work area.

The role requires a Washington State Food Worker Card (or eligibility within two weeks) and at least one year of experience in food and beverage service. Training on equipment and food preparation will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment.
• One year of experience preparing and serving food and beverage.
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee and espresso;
• Weigh, prepare, and serve meals;
• Clean work area and equipment;
• Take cash payment for meals and drinks;
• Operate cooking, espresso and kitchen equipment;
• Assist in maintaining daily stock of work area and weekly inventory;
• Perform related duties as required.
