Community Partners in Action, Inc. is seeking a Per Diem Assistant Chef for the REGIONS-Staff Secure Residential Treatment Program for Male Youth in Hartford, CT.

The role supports meal preparation, inventory, and adherence to health and dietary guidelines in a specialized setting. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a year of group meal prep experience, knowledge of CT food service regulations, and a CT driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least one year of experience with food ordering and meal preparation in a group setting.
• Understanding of Connecticut food service regulations and DOH requirements.
• Must be a Qualified Food Operator or able to qualify; capable of training staff.
• Ability to provide vocational training to program youth.
• Must possess a valid CT driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Willing to work weekends and holidays; flexible schedule.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Chef in planning and preparing approximately 200 healthy meals daily.
• Assist with inventory and food orders as requested.
• Follow dietary guidelines set by licensed dietician.
• Maintain sanitation per agency standards and Health Department rules.
• Monitor Fire Safety Standards as required by law.
• Provide vocational training to youth on food service and safe handling procedures.
• Comply with all program policies and procedures.
• Establish professional boundaries with staff and youth.
• Model pro-social behavior for youth and staff.
• Participate in all required trainings.
• Perform all other duties as required.
