Job summary

Hebrew Senior Care in West Hartford, CT seeks an experienced Admissions Coordinator for the CT Behavioral Health Hospital to cover occasional mornings and time off for permanent staff. The schedule will be determined upon hire.

The Admissions Coordinator will review medical records, obtain insurance information and prior authorizations, and coordinate with Behavioral Unit staff to arrange admissions for referrals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Two years hospital office experience preferred.
• Experience educating patients, families and staff.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD codes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to determine admission eligibility.
• Coordinate admissions by obtaining insurance information and prior authorizations.
• Communicate with Behavioral Unit staff to arrange admissions.
• Cultivate relationships with external referrals to generate revenue.
• Educate referral sources, families, patients and coworkers about services.
• Understand reimbursement parameters for services.
