Job summary

Community Care Alliance is seeking a per diem 988 Call Crisis Counselor to join the on-site team in East Providence, RI. You will respond to crisis crises via calls, chats, and texts, perform risk assessments, and connect callers with local resources and mobile crisis services.

The role focuses on empathetic engagement, brief clinical rapport, and timely documentation while coordinating with BH Link and local authorities as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school equivalency required.
• 1-3 years in the human services industry preferred.
• Fluency in multiple languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• On-site work at the 988 Call Center in East Providence.
• Answer calls, chats, and texts via 988 Lifeline and 414-LINK.
• Establish clinical rapport with empathy and professionalism.
• Routinely assess suicidality and safety risks.
• Coordinate wellness checks and mobile crisis dispatch.
• Provide resources and referrals to callers.
• Complete documentation and data entry promptly.
• Coordinate with BH Link clinical team as needed.
• Coordinate with 911 and local authorities as appropriate.
• Document incidents and notify supervisors for critical events.
• Attend required staff meetings and trainings.
