Job summary

Aventon is seeking an HR & Payroll Assistant to join our Human Resources team. This role supports day-to-day HR, payroll, and office operations, ensuring accurate records and smooth employee lifecycle management.

As a central resource for employees, you will manage onboarding, HRIS data entry, and payroll processing, while handling sensitive information with professionalism and discretion in a fast-paced environment at our headquarters.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources, Payroll, Office Administration, or related administrative support role.
• Experience supporting payroll processing, timekeeping, or HR administration preferred.
• Experience using Rippling, ADP, or a comparable HRIS, payroll, and timekeeping platform preferred.
• Basic knowledge of California employment laws, including wage/hour, FMLA/CFRA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and OSHA requirements is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operations of HR, payroll, compliance, and office operations.
• Coordinate new hire onboarding, including documentation, HRIS data entry, orientations, and paperwork.
• Maintain accurate employee files and HR records in compliance with policies and laws.
• Process employee status changes (promotions, transfers, changes, separations).
• Monitor time and attendance records, review timecards, and resolve discrepancies with supervisors.
