Job summary

WHEDA in Madison, WI, seeks two People Partners (HR Generalists) to join the People Strategy & Experience team. The role collaborates across payroll, benefits, HRIS, and Talent Acquisition to support the employee lifecycle and deliver practical HR guidance.

The successful candidate will build strong partnerships with leaders, drive continuous improvement, and promote a positive employee experience aligned with WHEDA’s mission and benefits package. Hybrid/work flexibility may apply after training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or closely related field.
• 3–5 years of progressively responsible professional HR experience.
• SHRM or other HR certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Payroll processing, benefits administration, and HRIS data integrity.
• Coordinate talent acquisition activities and workforce planning.
• Handle employee relations matters and investigations; advise leaders on appropriate resolutions.
• Administer FMLA/leave management and accommodation processes.
• Provide guidance on performance management and coaching with leaders.
• Oversee onboarding, offboarding, and overall employee experience initiatives.
• Develop and communicate workforce reports and HR metrics.
• Lead policy updates, process improvements, and HR projects.
• Collaborate across departments to support People Strategy & Experience initiatives.
