Liberty1 Financial is seeking a People Operations Coordinator in Tempe to manage payroll, HR operations, leaves, and office duties. The role partners with the Director of People Operations to ensure smooth HR processes and a positive employee experience across the organization.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in HR, payroll exposure across multiple states, and solid experience with HRIS and Excel. This non-exempt, full-time position offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of HR experience or equivalent in People Operations/Payroll
• Experience with multi-state payroll and HRIS data integrity
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Discretion handling confidential information

Responsibilities

• Review and audit timecards for accuracy
• Process payroll changes for hires, terminations, compensation updates, PTO, and benefits deductions
• Administer payroll within HRIS and prepare for executive review
• Maintain payroll records and employee data; resolve discrepancies with Finance
• Coordinate onboarding and new hire experiences; support HRIS data integrity
• Administer leaves of absence (FMLA, ADA, workers' comp, state leaves)
• Assist with benefits administration and recruiting coordination
• Respond to employee questions about payroll, benefits, policies, and processes
• Prepare reports and support compliance initiatives
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and operational efficiency
• Support day-to-day office operations and vendor relationships
