Job summary

Overland AI is seeking a People Operations Generalist to be the second hire on the People team, owning day-to-day HR operations from onboarding to offboarding. You will report to the Senior People Ops Manager and help shape onboarding, support, and retention as the company scales.

You'll work on-site with leadership across a fast-growing organization, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution and building scalable People Ops processes and policies.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of HR generalist or People Operations experience.
• Solid working knowledge of employment law compliance.
• Experience with HRIS and payroll platforms like Rippling, Gusto, ADP, or similar.
• Experience with benefits administration end to end, including open enrollment and working with carriers.
• Experience handling employee relations with empathy and good judgment.

Responsibilities

• Own the onboarding experience end to end, from offer letters to benefits enrollment and check-ins.
• Administer benefits and payroll, including health, dental, vision, 401(k), and COBRA.
• Support employee relations and coach managers through performance conversations.
• Manage HRIS (Rippling): records, headcount data, reporting.
• Run offboarding processes with exit interviews and final pay compliance.
• Build People Ops infrastructure: policies, handbook, communications.
• Support performance review cycles and development plans.
• Partner with Talent team on recruiting-to-onboarding handoff.
