Pencil is seeking a hands-on automation advocate to own the People Ops tech stack, including HiBob, Ashby, and Remote. You will design end-to-end workflows, build AI agents, and automate multi-tool processes that impact recruitment, onboarding, and lifecycle events.

You thrive on shipping working automations quickly, while continuously improving them. Remote-friendly, with autonomy across geographies, and a focus on practical impact for people operations.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on with automation/workflow tools (e.g. Zapier, Make, n8n, Retool)
• Experience with structured data and APIs to reason about schemas and integrations
• Systems administrator of SaaS platforms: ownership of permissions, workflows, and integrations (HiBob, Ashby, Remote)
• Experience in a high-growth, remote and multi-geography environment with async work across time zones (EMEA, etc.)
• Exposure to People Ops/HR systems or UK employment practices is a bonus, not a requirement

Aufgaben

• Design, build, and maintain automations, workflows, and AI agents across People Ops tooling to turn multi-step processes into self-running systems.
• Own the data layer: ensure HiBob/Ashby/Remote data quality and resolve integration issues.
• Lead end-to-end new joiner onboarding with a bias for automation and simplification.
• Administer employee lifecycle changes (promotions, transfers, terminations) and implement guardrails to prevent data errors.
• Create and maintain SOPs, checklists, and playbooks for onboarding/offboarding and system administration.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on UK employment/compliance judgements as the system evolves and ownership shifts over time.
